Mission: GMEC provides resources, opportunities and education for students wishing to start a new business or who are interested in small business, venture capital, private equity or larger corporations that promote the entrepreneurial spirit. GMEC strives to nurture creative thinkers for Entrepreneurial or Intra-Preneurial career paths.
Main Activities:
- GMEC sponsors speakers, collaborative workshops or "meet-ups," networking opportunities, and educational events to connect the greater Washington, D.C. and East Coast entrepreneurial community.
- GMEC provides several incubation resources: partner with local Entrepreneurs-in-Residence for mentoring, create forums for sharing startup questions and business plan pitching competitions with investors, provide internship opportunities with startup companies, and network with Venture Capital groups for investment and internship opportunities.
- GMEC competes in and hosts a regional competition of the Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC), and hosts MBA Entrepreneurship Day annually.
- GMEC also provides networking opportunities when identifying resources for starting new businesses, growing existing small businesses, growing existing small businesses, or connecting with the Venture Capital or Private Equity industries.
